Thanks to the modern OpenCore bootloader and proper kext selection, this AMD Ryzen system operates with extreme stability and fluid responsiveness.
What's Working:
- Graphics Acceleration (QE/CI): Full native GPU acceleration on the MSI RX 6600 XT with
agdpmod=pikeraboot argument. - CPU Power Management: Properly patched kernel for AMD dynamic frequency scaling and power management.
- System Power Features: Restart, Sleep, and Shutdown function perfectly without kernel panics.
- Audio Output: Rear line-out and front headphone jack working fine via AppleALC.kext.
- Display & Audio Passthrough: HDMI and DisplayPort video output and integrated audio work as expected on the Gigabyte G24F.
- Networking: Full 2.5GB Ethernet speed enabled by LucyRTL8125Ethernet driver.
- USB Port Mapping: All USB ports properly mapped across both chipset controllers for maximum stability.
What's Not Working:
- Analogue Audio Input Jack: standard limitation for AMD Hackintosh builds using AppleALC.kext. Users are advised to use a USB microphone or external audio interface for voice input.
Configuration Notes
Building an AMD Ryzen Hackintosh requires updating the OpenCore kernel patches to match the 6-core 5600X layout. For the Navi 23 graphics card (RX 6600 XT), the agdpmod=pikera parameter in boot-args is essential to prevent a black screen during boot.
